Finding Jesus in Everyday Life: Adventures with “Flat Jesus"

Sometimes we think of faith as something that only happens on Sunday mornings or during special church events. But Jesus walks with us every day—in the ordinary moments as well as the extraordinary ones. Inspired by Jeff Brown’s Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, "Flat Jesus" invites each of us to look for signs of God's presence wherever we go and whatever we do. Together, we will discover some of the many different ways Jesus is present in our everyday lives.
Color your Flat Jesus and place him in scenes from your daily life. Take photos of Flat Jesus helping with chores, reading a book, sharing a family meal, enjoying time outdoors, visiting a favorite place, cheering at a game, helping a neighbor, or simply spending quiet time in prayer. As you create and photograph these moments, consider where you see kindness, gratitude, joy, love, service, or peace. These are often places where we can recognize Jesus at work in our lives.
Creating Your “Flat Jesus”
- Pick up a "Flat Jesus" from the church.
- Decorate your and make him your own. Add the wooden holder.
- Take photos of "Flat Jesus" in everyday situations that help you see God's love in action.
- Post to your own social media account. Share your photos with the church by sending to office@stmarysedmond.org
